After ten years of success, we are realigning our brand to better meet the needs of our customers. With the new name SecureCloud, a fresh visual design and many new functions, we are still one step ahead of the competition.
It all started with the theft of a laptop
With more than 6,000 satisfied customers, we are now a major player in the cloud service provider market. But this success didn't just fall into our laps. The idea of offering cloud storage as a service came to me after a tragic event in 2014: a friend's laptop had been stolen and he had not backed up his data beforehand. A lot of personal data, including emotional data, was irretrievably lost.
I thought about how such a loss could be avoided in the future. It should be possible to store user data regardless of location so that it could be accessed from different devices. It should also be possible to keep the data up to date both locally and in the cloud. And of course, all of this was only possible using the highest security standards, as hard disks could fail as storage media, and malicious natures were already roaming cyberspace back then.
As there wasn't a single provider in Germany a good ten years ago that could really satisfy all my technical requirements reliably, I rolled up my sleeves and realized my ideas myself: the result was Your Secure Cloud, which came onto the market a few months later.
Constantly innovative
Since then, we have continuously developed our product portfolio and adapted it to the needs of our customers: While the initial phase focused purely on cloud storage and data synchronization between different devices, more and more innovations have been added over time, making our cloud solutions the linchpin of secure and reliable data processing.
By introducing a cloud-based office suite, we were able to enable collaborative working in teams and with external parties across local and national borders, and with the founding of our sister company exabackup ( www.exabackup.com ), we are one of the pacesetters of an easy-to-use and secure backup solution in the cloud. With the help of exabackup, you minimize the risk of data loss, for example due to accidental account deletion, even with conventional cloud-based office suites.
New technological possibilities motivate us to consistently continue on this path in order to continue to provide our customers with practical support in their everyday office life. The concentrated focus on corporate and government customers has therefore prompted us to realign our brand and rename Your Secure Cloud to SecureCloud.
SecureSign as a new product
At the same time, we are introducing further innovations with this realignment: With SecureSign, we offer you the option to sign documents online in a legally compliant manner. We are the first German cloud service provider to offer our customers qualified eSignatures (QES). This eliminates many time-consuming and cumbersome steps in the office when signing documents.
We are also staying true to ourselves when it comes to data protection: in addition to the numerous certifications in accordance with internationally recognized standards that we have already received, we expect to be able to demonstrate certification in accordance with the BSI C5 standard from the first quarter of 2025. This will document the high level of our data protection management based on regular audits by independent auditors. Public institutions and companies can therefore be sure at all times that the data entrusted to our cloud is protected according to the highest possible technical and organizational standards.
And our journey continues. We continue to think about how we can make our customers' everyday office life more efficient with our services and thus contribute to their market success. Several interesting projects are in the works, so I can already promise you today: The next ten years will be no less exciting!
